Garden City Dermatology is pleased to have Nicole Tardio, MS, RPA-C as an associate of the practice. She is a Certified Physician Assistant (PA) and has been with the practice for approximately 4 years. She has experience in treating acne, alopecia, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, warts, skin cancer and cosmetic dermatology, amongst other conditions and illnesses.

A physician assistant is a healthcare provider who practices medicine with the supervision of a licensed physician. The profession has become an increasingly important part of the health care community in recent years. As a physician assistant, Mrs. Tardio has been trained to effectively deliver quality patient care and services including physical exams, diagnosing illnesses, developing and executing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting lab tests, suturing lacerations, assisting in surgery, providing patient education, preventive health care counseling and prescribing medication.

Mrs. Tardio holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences Education from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science degree as a Physician Assistant from Stony Brook University. Mrs. Tardio has been a board-certified PA since 2007 working in the field of dermatology. In order to maintain her board certification, Mrs. Tardio completes at least 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and is required to pass a recertification exam every six years. Nicole Tardio is a member of the AAPA (American Academy of Physician Assistants), NYSSPA (New York State Society of Physician Assistants) and SDPA (Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants).
